Sales Lead (Performance Sports)

We're looking for a sales lead to accelerate our expansion into the running and cycling markets. You will focus on physical retail on a global level and work closely with the Commercial Director to establish and scale new business through third-party retailers in the performance sports space.

What is the job role?
The ideal candidate for this job is an opportunistic and business-minded relationship builder, who brings with them knowledge and key contacts from the running and cycling retail world. You will identify and meet various in-target retailers across the UK, Europe and the US and establish valuable revenue-driving wholesale partnerships. You will understand what retailers and their customers in this space want and be adept at working independently and to quarterly targets.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Prospecting and meeting with new in-target retailers, converting these to valuable accounts.
✔ Converting relevant inbound performance-wholesale enquiries.
✔ Representing SunGod at relevant trade shows, networking events and some physical activation events where required.
✔ Working closely with the Operations team to ensure we are delivering all wholesale orders OTIF.
✔ Negotiating with buyers directly and ensuring contractual obligations on both sides of a wholesale partnership are fulfilled.
✔ Working with the Partnerships team to identify all existing wholesale and distribution avenues through partners.
✔ Meeting quarterly sales targets.
✔ Working with our sales and marketing team to build best-in-class onboarding processes for retailers and wholesalers, including staff training and POS display assistance.
✔ Using data to aid decision-making.
✔ Proactively keeping an ear to the ground for relevant industry updates and changes.
✔ Understand SunGod’s triple bottom line of people, planet and profit, and incorporate this into your job role every day.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate comes with a number of years of proven success in the performance sports retail space. They would come with a network of industry contacts and accounts that SunGod would be able to tap into. They would have a natural hunger to drive triple-digital revenue growth in SunGod’s wholesale division.
The ideal person has the following skills, experiences and competencies:
✔ A warm communicator with a proven record of retail sales success.
✔ Someone proactive with existing contacts and a network in the running/cycling space that would be valuable for SunGod to work with.
✔ Someone who understands the performance sports market and can use this to build strong relationships with retailers.
✔ A strategic and commercial thinker who is naturally proactive and driven to achieve sales targets.
✔ Someone skilled in negotiation and basic financial calculations.
✔ Someone who can use data analytics and experience to identify the most valuable opportunities.
✔ Someone who is able to listen to and collaborate with multiple teams to achieve the business goals.
✔ Someone highly organised, with an understanding of the logistics and operations that support wholesale.
