What is the job role?
This is an opportunity for a driven, part-qualified finance professional to step into a broad and visible FC role at a fast-growing consumer brand. You will own the month-end close and management accounts preparation, with full exposure to inventory, B2B accounts receivable, accounts payable and multi-currency operations.
Working closely with the Head of Finance, you’ll operate at the centre of the business - collaborating across teams and contributing to the financial foundations that support SunGod’s continued growth. With the company scaling at pace, this role offers scope to expand your responsibilities and develop into a senior finance leader as the organisation evolves.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End & Management Accounts
Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, prepayments, accruals, and reconciliations.
Prepare the monthly management accounts pack for the senior leadership team.
Maintain balance sheet schedules and ensure all accounts are clean and fully reconciled.
Inventory & Cost of Goods
Own inventory valuation in collaboration with the Ops Manager using the Airtable-based inventory system.
Calculate and post landed cost adjustments for stock imported from China via the 3PL partner (OCF).
Monitor stock movements between Airtable, ShipStation (OMS), and Xero to ensure accuracy.
Trade Payables & Receivables
Manage supplier payment runs and maintain aged creditor schedules.
Support B2B invoicing and aged debtor management in collaboration with the Commercial team.
Assist with licensed product reconciliations and royalty tracking.
Systems & Process
Work within Xero as the core accounting platform and maintain a clean chart of accounts.
Develop and improve finance processes, templates, and internal controls as the business grows.
Support the Head of Finance with ad hoc analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal person has the following skills, experiences and competencies:
Essential
Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (actively studying)
Experience of month-end close and management accounts preparation
Comfortable working independently and owning recurring finance tasks
Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to reconciliations
Desirable
Experience with Xero
Exposure to inventory or product-based businesses
Background in D2C, e-commerce, or consumer brands
Group Accounting experience
Passion for the sports/outdoor industry
Familiarity with multi-currency transactions (USD, EUR, GBP)
